CONFIGURACION DE ACCESO PPPoE EN FEDORA 6.93
1. Abrimos el lanzador de programas [Alt+f2]
2. Digitamos xterm para abrir la terminal
3. Nos logueamos como root
[su ] y damos la contraseña
4. Le damos permisos de ejecucion a /usr/sbin
[chmod 755 /usr/sbin/adsl-start]
5. Ejecutamos ppoe-setup
[/usr/sbin/pppoe-setup]
6. Nos salen las opciones de configuracion
- - Nos pide el nombre de la conexion a utilizar, damos enter - Nos pide el nombre de usuario de la conexion, lo digitamos y damos enter - Seleccionamos el dispositivo ethernet a utilizar, generalmente sale por defecto la tarjeta que esta configurada, si tenemos varias podemos seleccionar las otras, damos enter - Nos pregunta si queremos tener la conexion activa constantemente o por demanda, seleccionamos la opcion que deseamos - Nos pide la direccion DNS de nuestro proveedor de servicios de internet (ISP) - Pide un segundo DNS del proveedor, generalmente ellos utilizan dos direcciones estaticas - Pide el password con que nos conectamos y la verificacion - Nos dice si deseamos que los usuarios normales utilicen la conexion, damos "yes" o "no" dependiendo de lo que deseamos - Ahora nos dice como va a ser la configuracion de firewall - Nos pregunta si queremos que la conexion se ejecute al iniciar la maquina - Nos da la configuracion que hemos establecido y nos pregunta si estamos de acuerdo con ella, en caso de haber cometido algun error, podemos volver a establecer la configuracion,
7. Ahora nos sale el script para subir o bajar la conexion
- Para subir es [/sbin/ifup pppoe0]
- Para bajarlo es [/sbin/ifdown pppoe0]8. Ahora a disfrutar.
A continuacion podemos ver que nos dice la consola a medida que seguimos los pasos.

For Solaris, this is likely to be something like /dev/hme0.
For Linux, it will be ethX, where 'X' is a number.

FIREWALLING
Please choose the firewall rules to use. Note that these rules are
very basic. You are strongly encouraged to use a more sophisticated
firewall setup; however, these will provide basic security. If you
are running any servers on your machine, you must choose 'NONE' and
set up firewalling yourself. Otherwise, the firewall rules will deny
access to all standard servers like Web, e-mail, ftp, etc. If you
are using SSH, the rules will block outgoing SSH connections which
allocate a privileged source port.
The firewall choices are:
0 - NONE: This script will not set any firewall rules. You are responsible
for ensuring the security of your machine. You are STRONGLY
recommended to use some kind of firewall rules.
1 - STANDALONE: Appropriate for a basic stand-alone web-surfing workstation
2 - MASQUERADE: Appropriate for a machine acting as an Internet gateway
for a LAN

Congratulations, it should be all set up!
Type '/sbin/ifup ppp0' to bring up your xDSL link and '/sbin/ifdown ppp0'
to bring it down.
Type '/sbin/pppoe-status /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0'
to see the link status.
